Pear shaped obesity is where its not the stomach that is affected by obesity it is the hips and thighs, giving your body the shape of a well built pear! This type of obesity can require liposuction to get rid of the fat under the skin, but a lot of weight has to be lost before a consultant will use a general anaesthetic on you. Putting someone under the knife while morbidly obese is very dangerous and is only ever done in very rare circumstances. Stomach obesity is the more common of the two for unknown reasons. The older generation seem to have pear shaped obesity whereas the younger generation seem to suffer from stomach obesity. I feel the reasons are due to the diet changes over the years. Years ago people used to eat whole healthy foods but these days foods are pumped full of chemicals and additives which may be altering where we put our fat in our body. If this is true then the foods that we eat can possibly determine where we store our fat and can then be manipulated!
